This year FPC is very proud to be sponsoring the Advisory Council Dinner on the evening of June 18th. It is a river boat cruise dinner and social event with members of Realcomm’s Advisory Council and associates that will be sure to get the week of conversations started on the right footing. We are truly looking forward to this evening.

FPC will be represented at the event by our Global Head of Technical Consulting Brian Vaughn and by our Head of Strategic Development & Client Relations for the Americas, David Stoller. 

Additionally, Brian will also be joining industry leaders Shaun Cooley of Mapped and Ryan Sen of Distech Controls together with Alan Jackson of Google to discuss The Future of Building Data Architecture: Evaluating IDL Solutions. The panel discussion will be led by industry legend Marc Petock of Lynxspring. It’s a fascinating topic. The concept of an Independent Data Layer has emerged in recent years to help address the technical debt we face in the industry to  support the more modern IoT solutions and application use cases. It’s a fundamental need for capturing data and allowing corrective actions to be taken within our spaces. Technical systems in most industries might call this middleware and has become a common approach. 

Not everyone agrees on the definition or the need of this technology layer. It still faces a lot of challenges, of which we look forward to digging into this discussion much further on June 20th at 1:15pm ET.
