Today we are proud to be part of World FM Day, this year's theme is leading a sustainable future.

Leading a sustainable future is vital for our environment and for the next generations. What we do today affects tomorrow, if we keep living unsustainably the future will be bleak for our future generations.

Case studies have shown that it is not too late for the human race to start to reverse the damage we have inflicted upon our home, this little planet we call earth.

Governments and leading bodies are all commiting to future targets to try and stop how much pressure we as human beings place upon our environment, however we can all start today by carefully thinking about how we go about our lives and how we can personally try to make that difference. You may well think, how can my actions have a direct impact, how can i make the difference? 

If we take the steps, then hopefully we can inspire others to try and so the domino effect begins. So what is it we can do to help out, to preserve a better tomorrow for our future generations and how do we want to be remembered as a generation? 

As individuals we have a duty of care to minimise our environmental footprint, individual environmental leadership leads others to follow, we can all make a difference by adopting the following ideas;

• Save energy. By using less energy, you can help to reduce carbon emissions. Minimise energy at both work and home, Switch it off, do not leave on, Standby uses energy, Educate your family. 
• Maximise renewable Energy where possible
• Minimise Carbon Footprint, walk, cycle, use public transport wherever possible
• Grow your own produce, educate your family, minimise waste
• Recycle or reuse the world's resources at every opportunity, Clothing, White Goods etc
• Eat less meat. 
• Use reusable alternatives. 
• Go paperless. 
• Use renewable energy. 
• Grow your own produce. 
• Donate unused items.
• Save water
• By fair trade products
• Drive less
• Don’t waste food
• Wear sustainable clothing
• Use Eco friendly cleaning products

We can also bring these into our workplaces, no matter what your profession or job role, let’s be the person to inspire others by our actions.
